SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS PREVAIL IN APA MODEL LICENSURE ACT BATTLE!
In a stunning reversal, the APA Council of Representatives adopted revisions to their Model Licensure Act that included the school psychology exemption, which allows the use of the title "school psychologist" and practice of school psychology by doctoral AND non-doctoral school psychologists. This incredible event was the culmination of intense advocacy work by many allied groups. NYASP played a critical role in obtaining assurance that the state psychological association (NYSPA) would not back the MLA revisions unless it included the school psychology exemption. I know that many of you have written letters in support of maintaining this exemption in the MLA. Your voices were heard! Thank you
